Other than just participating in competitions, our team is dedicated to sharing our passion for STEM to future generations. Here are some ways we have connected with our community through outreach events, spreading FIRST and robotics.
In November, we went to Safari Kids and taught a group of kids ages 5-8 about robotics. We talked about programming, FIRST, what we did, and how they could join. We showed them our robot from the First Lego League, which is the competition we participated in last year. We are happy to have inspired them, and hope that they continue robotics.
So far, our team has participated in five farmers market events including:
Niles Farmer's Market
Irvington Farmers' Market
At these farmers markets, we spoke with passing by visitors about our robot, FIRST, and the FTC program. We encouraged younger students to explore FLL and offered guidance on how to get started with the process. We also handed out flyers to raise funds for robot parts and future workshops.
